Westonbirt Arboretum


Westonbirt Arboretum in near Tetbury in Gloucestershire is renowned worldwide both for its tree and shrub collection and beautifully landscaped grounds.

Today the collection contains around 18,000 trees and shrubs covering some 600 acres of Grade 1 Listed Landscape. In 2001 it was joined with its sister pinetum, Bedgebury in Kent, to form the National Arboreta.

Westonbirt Arboretum Opening Times and Admission Charges


Westonbirt Arboretum is open 365 days a year.

Westonbirt Arboretum opens Monday to Friday at 9am and Saturday and Sunday at 8am.

The Arboretum closes at:

5pm (1 November - 31 March - or DUSK if earlier)
8pm (1 April - 31 October or DUSK if earlier)

The Forest Shop, plant centre and Maples Restaurant are open daily 10am - 5pm

(Exceptions: Plant Centre closed 25th December 2007 to 2 January 2008, Forest Shop closed 25/26 Dec & 1 Jan 08)

2007 Admission Prices:

2 January to 28 February 2007 - Adult £5, Concession £4, Child £1
1 March to 31 September 2007 - Adult £7, Concession £6, Child £2
1 October to 30 November 2007 - Adult £7.50, Concession £6.50, Child £2
1 December to 31 December 2007 - to be confirmed

Admission prices for special events:

Dog Days: Adult £6, Concession £5, Child £2
Festival of the Tree: Adult £8, Concession £7, Child £3
